Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted in response to the tremors: “Earthquake tremors have been felt in different places in the state including Jaipur. I hope everyone is secure.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) first insisted that there had been three earthquakes, but on Friday afternoon they revised that the final earthquake had been felt at 4.31 am and had a magnitude of 2.5. The initial earthquake, which was recorded at 4:09 am and measured 4.4 on the Richter scale and a depth of 10 km, was centred in Jaipur, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
