Justin Timberlake Was Detained And Accused Of Driving While Inebriated.

Justin Randall Timberlake is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Timberlake is known for his multifaceted artistry in songwriting, showmanship, tenor vocal range, and music production.

According to a court complaint, the boy band singer-turned-solo artist and actor was driving a 2025 BMW in Sag Harbour at 12:30 a.m. when an officer pulled him over and discovered he was inebriated.

“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” according to court papers.

According to the records, Timberlake, 43, informed the officer he was on his way home with some buddies after drinking one martini. After being caught and transferred to a police station in adjacent East Hampton, he rejected a breath test, according to court documents, which described his occupation as “professional” and stated that he was “self-employed.”

Following his arraignment in Sag Harbour, the ten-time Grammy winner was released without bond later Tuesday morning. He was charged with a misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated, and his next court appearance is scheduled for July 26, according to the Suffolk County district attorney’s office.

Edward Burke Jr., a local lawyer representing Timberlake, declined to comment on Tuesday other than to confirm that the star is not required to attend in person for his next court date. Timberlake’s California-based agents did not respond to several requests for comment Tuesday.

The arrest drew a steady stream of curious visitors to the village’s charming Main Street, with many taking photos in front of the brick municipal building throughout the day.

Even music icon Billy Joel, who owns a home in Sag Harbour, observed the scene outside the American Hotel, a prominent hotel and restaurant near the courthouse where Timberlake was seen before his arrest.

Timberlake began his career as a Disney Mouseketeer, working with future fiancée Britney Spears (he is now married to actress Jessica Biel). He rose to prominence in the mammoth boy band NSYNC, then launched a solo recording career in 2002, becoming one of pop’s most prominent artists in the early 2000s.

He’s recognized for such Grammy-winning classics as “Cry Me A River,” “SexyBack,” “What Goes Around…Comes Around” and “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” He has performed at several Super Bowl halftime shows, including the infamous 2004 “wardrobe malfunction” moment when he ripped off a piece of Janet Jackson’s garment and exposed her naked nipple.

The incident resulted in Jackson’s disqualification from the Grammy telecast a week later. She stated in a 2022 documentary that what happened was an accident and that she and Timberlake remained close friends.

Timberlake has pursued an acting career, earning praise for films such as “The Social Network” and “Friends With Benefits” and winning four Primetime Emmys.

Last year, Timberlake made news when Britney Spears released her memoir, “The Woman in Me.” Several chapters were dedicated to their romance, revealing very personal details such as a pregnancy, abortion, and a sad breakup.

In March, he released his first new album in six years, “Everything I Thought It Was,” a nostalgic return to his signature

future funk sound.
