Rahul Gandhi, the leader of Congress, criticized the BJP-led national government on Monday for the decline in jobs in India. The comments were made just hours after reports claimed that employment in India’s central public sector firms had decreased over the previous ten years. Gandhi claimed that PSUs were being neglected by the Central government and cited past commitments to create two crore jobs annually.

‘Why are jobs disappearing in such large numbers if ‘Amrit Kaal’ is really behind it? Under this administration, the nation is struggling with record-high unemployment. An approximate translation of Gandhi’s message stated, “The hopes of lakhs of youth are being crushed for the advantage of a few capitalist pals.

Gandhi claimed between 16.9 lakh employees in PSUs in 2014 and only 14.6 lakhs in 2022. He questioned whether jobs would decline in a developed nation and criticized the BJP government for cutting more than 2 lakh positions.

India’s PSUs have the potential to boost the economy and jobs if given the proper conditions and assistance from the government. PSUs must be pushed since they belong to the nation and its citizens and will strengthen India’s progress, he continued.

Gandhi criticised the administration for expanding contract hiring in PSUs and eliminating the entitlement to the reservation.

Is there a plot to privatize these businesses? debt forgiveness for business owners and the elimination of public sector employment! Is this what you call immortality? said he.
